
Tonight I am honored to be a guest at a play put on by DVF & Vital Voices; Seven. Seven is about seven amazing women. Tonight we are celebrating a Decade of Investing in Women to Improve the World. The play highlights seven extremely influential women from all around the world!
- Hafsat Abiola from Nigeria, founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND).
- Farida Azizi from Afghanistan, who has dedicated the past 15 years to improving the lives of women with fewer skills and opportunities.
- Anabella De Leon, who is a Congress woman from Guatemala.
- Inez McCormack, a Civil Rights Leader from Northern Ireland.
- Mukhtaran Mai, who won the North-South Prize from the EU Council of Europe. In 2005, Glamour Magazine named her “Glamour Woman of the Year”.
- Mu Sochua, honoree of the Human Rights Award from Cambodia.
- Marina Pisklakova-Parker, who established a hot-line for women suffering from Domestic Violence in Russia.
